Goddess of Blood, Sex Magick, and Integrity

In this episode, I give you all the goods on Dark Goddess Lilith! This is my masterclass, that, in the past, has only been available to my Magical Menees!

 In this episode you’ll find

  • A condensed exploration of her energy and how I channel and offer work with her.
  • The idea that there is no right way to be a witch, and spirituality is an infinite spectrum.
  • A baseline and container for understanding Lilith and working with her.

Who is Lilith?

Lilith is a goddess associated with blood, sex magick, equity, the oppressed, fertility, seduction, shamelessness, the "villain era," and integrity. She is often depicted as the first woman, created as an equal partner to Adam.

Lilith's Origin Story:

  • Equal Creation: Lilith was created from earth, just as Adam was, signifying her equality.
  • Refusal and Exile: She refused to be subservient to Adam, specifically in the context of sexual relations, and chose exile from Eden rather than compromise her integrity.
  • Demonization: Lilith's legacy was demonized because she asserted her equality and desires. She was labeled the "mother of all demons."

Multiple Narratives:

  • Queen of Sheba: In some traditions, she is identified with the Queen of Sheba.
  • Divine Counterpart: She is also seen as the feminine counterpart to God, the Matronit, embodying both light and dark aspects.
  • Guardian of Children: Despite her demonized image, some stories portray her as a goddess of fertility and a protector of children.

Lilith's Message:

Lilith's story is a reclamation of her full being. She represents a woman who defied patriarchal expectations and choose integrity over conformity. She is a fierce nurturer committed to fostering empowered individuals. She demands to be heard and values truth above all else.

Lilith and Eve:

One narrative suggests that Lilith was the serpent in the Garden of Eden, offering Eve the fruit of wisdom to liberate her from subservience. This highlights Lilith's commitment to female empowerment and equality.

Lilith's Energies and Associations:

  • Jungian Psychology: Lilith represents the dark subconscious, the Anima, and is central to shadow work.
  • Seasons: Spring and Fall, reflecting themes of sex, fertility, rebirth, and underworld journeys.
  • Elements: Air and Fire.
  • Colors: Red, Black, and Lavender.
  • Symbols: Owl, Snake, Anzû (a storm-bird demon), Dragon.

The Dark Goddess Archetype:

Lilith is a dark goddess, challenging conventional notions of "good" and "light." Dark goddesses encourage us to embrace our full selves, including the parts that society deems unacceptable. They disrupt, challenge, and refuse to conform.

The Left-Hand Path:

While often associated with "dark magic," the left-hand path, in the context of Lilith, represents sovereignty and independence. It's about bowing to no one but oneself. It's important to note that the concepts of "left hand" and "right hand" are often problematic and rooted in binaries.

Lilith's Balance and Imbalance:

  • Imbalance: Vengeful, destructive rage.
  • Balance: Self-love, worthiness, and the exalted Divine Feminine.

Offerings to Lilith:

  • Bitter foods
  • Dark chocolate
  • Garlic
  • Red wine
  • Pomegranate
  • Crystals: Nuumite, Black Tourmaline, Garnet, Amethyst
  • Dragon's Blood incense
  • Roses
  • Lavender (fresh, dried, or tea)
  • Menstrual blood

The Importance of Consistent Offerings:

Regular offerings are seen as "energetic coin in the bank," demonstrating gratitude and reverence. Consistent practice can lead to a deeper connection and the development of High Priestess energy.

Magickal Practices Associated with Lilith:

  • Glamour Magick: Using aesthetics to invoke desired energies.
  • Sex Magick: Channeling energy during climax to empower spells.
  • Blood Magick: Incorporating blood into spells.

Lilith and Seduction:

Seduction, in the context of Lilith, is about persuading oneself or others away from patriarchal constraints and toward personal empowerment. It also connects to ancient goddess worship and temple rituals.
